Sheridan and Shail’s enchanting wedding was special for many reasons, but I have a personal connection to their wedding because my wife and I got married at Searles Chapel in Windham, NH., as well. Ever since my wedding I had been hoping to photograph a wedding there myself, and that’s why I was so excited when they reached out. Searles Chapel is a quaint, yet breathtaking, place to get married. The chapel resembles a storybook castle and will make any wedding feel like a fairytale.

The beautiful bride arrived at the chapel to greet her group for an intimate first-look, after a nervous morning of getting ready. Like I tell all my couples, all those nerves disappear once you see each other during your first-look. I staged Shail hiding behind bushes in the back of the chapel, which provided the couple a private spot for their intimate first-look. After the bride and groom had their time together, we moved back into the chapel, where the bride’s parents were eagerly waiting for their own first-look with their daughter. Sheridan’s mother’s reaction was just perfect!

Sheridan and Shail had a short but loving ceremony. During the ceremony their rings were passed to each and every guest for a ring warming, which I think is really beautiful. Its also great way for everyone to feel involved in your day and for them to pass love onto your wedding rings.

The reception was held on the other side of the chapel and there was so much going, even guests that weren’t big dancers had plenty of entertainment all evening. From a close-up magic show at the tables, to a high-stakes bidding war for the groom’s shoe after it was stolen (which really gathered a crowd).

The groom even brought his telescope and we were all able to view Saturn! Definitely a first for me but something I’ll remember forever. Thanks again for that, Shail!

After an exception night the bride and groom made their grand exit and rode off towards their life together. I loved photographing their wedding and hope to return to Searles Chapel soon!
